Week 10 EOC: The Promoter

A promoter is someone who starts off with an idea and then shows it off to people. "When an individual has an idea for a new business venture, he or she may set about interesting others in the venture and persuade them to contribute capital to a company to be incorporate for the purpose of carrying on the venture." https://www.lawteacher.net/free-law-essays/business-law/role-of-promoters-in-company-establishment-business-law-essay.php It is someone who will publicize and promote upcoming local or national live events and concerts. He or she will also organize the events, book the band or bands, and advertise in a way to bring in as many people as possible, which in turn, will bring in profits. https://www.sokanu.com/careers/music-promoter/ The purpose of the promoter is to bind transcription factors that control the initiation of transcription. The promoter region can be short or quite long; the longer the promoter is, the more available space for proteins to bind.To initiate transcription, a transcription factor (TFIID) binds to the TATA box, which causes other transcription factors to subsequently bind to the TATA box.Once the transcription initiation complex is assembled, RNA polymerase can bind to its upstream sequence and is then phosphorylated.Phosphorylation of RNA polymerase releases part of the protein from the DNA to activate the transcription initiation complex and places RNA polymerase in the correct orientation to begin transcription.Transcription factors respond to environmental stimuli that cause the proteins to find their binding sites and initiate transcription of the gene that is needed. https://www.boundless.com/biology/textbooks/boundless-biology-textbook/gene-expression-16/eukaryotic-gene-regulation-113/the-promoter-and-the-transcription-machinery-457-11683/

I would save some of the money and for the rest I would use it for any bills and to get my life together. I would pay off my car and move out. I would pay off school and invest the rest of the money.

week 9 EOC: I'm a Little Worried About My Future

I see myself in my near future as a supervisor in the Box Office at the Smith’s Center. I could learn about show timing, staffing, and the show types. From there I see myself working in a television station, working for QVC, selling merchandise on television in West Chester Pennsylvania or just on the news on in a television serious. After that I would like to be the stage manager at the Smith’s Center or some other big entertainment company. I enjoy guiding people and I will be making sure that their experience with the company is spontaneous and definitely a memorable one. My main goal in life is to become a film director and successful actor. I would hope to have my name and prints at the Chinese theatre in California and my name on a star in the Hollywood walk of fame. I would like to be very well known. I also see myself in Los Angeles in one point in my life and live in Hollywood. Another time in my life I see myself in New York on Broadway. I would like to act in comedy films, action films, dramas and horrors. I also see myself as a model, hopefully one for Starbucks or with animals.

Week 7 EOC: Profile Statements

My passions include film, acting, and photography of which I use toward my major, which is Marketing and Entertainment Management. My goal is to obtain my bachelors degree from the Art Institute of Las Vegas to own my own production company.

In my production company, Sassy Rae Productions, I plan to produce my own films and TV shows from script to talent. As well, I will produce and direct photoshoots using both male and female models.

My desire is to direct, act, and produce horror television shows and films. Filming horror televisions shows is a very hard task to complete; additionally, this is a task I am up for completing.

Week 7 EOC: Zuckerberg

Supportive Community is a global community that works for everyone starts with the millions of smaller communities and intimate social structures we turn to for our personal, emotional and spiritual needs. A Safe Community is a community that helps keep us safe -- that prevents harm, helps during crises, and rebuilds afterwards. Civically-Engaged Community is a community used to reflect our collective values only if we engage in the civic process and participate in self-governance. An Inclusive Community is a community that makes a new process for citizens worldwide to participate in community governance. I can use this to advance my career for faster than I was capable before.

Week 6 EOC: Travel and Tourism

Fall is a better time than winter for senior citizens to travel because the climate is better, gambling, and for thee country performers. According to the textbook "Many senior citizen groups from surrounding states take charter bus tours to see their favorite country music performers and enjoy gambling provided by local casinos. Outlet malls located near Branson are an additional attraction for tourists." Branson hotels and restaurants should consider offering senior citizen discounts because during the fall more seniors come to visit for the special events and nice weather. According to the textbook "Most tourists stay an average of two nights in the local hotels."Market research I would conduct is how many seniors come with their families and spend time with their families. I would also conduct how long they stay. According to the text book, "Most tourists stay an average of two nights in the local hotels." Family reunion packages Branson could advertise to increase the number of tourists are discounted food and little games, activities, and raffles with prizes for families. Other ways of bringing in tourist would be family things to do. Like have a movie night. Seniors enjoy spending time with their family. The outlet mall near the event should also have sales if possible.

Week 6 EOC: Women's Sports

The importance of the women's basketball game is that they beat a record winning 100 consecutive games. Males basketball winnings are only 90 was. So the Huskies beat the mens record as well.  According to this site http://wtop.com/ncaa-basketball/2017/02/century-mark-uconn-women-win-100th-straight-game/"Given UConn’s glitzier numbers linked to national championships, 11 titles and counting, it may seem ho-hum with no added significance. Geno Auriemma’s squad already owns the longest winning streak in Division I college basketball history. UConn beat its own record of 90 consecutive wins earlier this season with little fanfare. "
https://www.enotes.com/homework-help/what-significance-equal-rights-amendment-1972-334689
"The Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) was significant because it represented a major step (albeit a failed step) in the move towards women's rights." The importance of title nine is for the gender discrimination. http://www.ncaa.org/about/resources/inclusion/gender-equity/title-ix-important-facts"Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, 20 U.S.C. Sect. 1681 (20 United States Code section 1681) et seq. (Title IX), is a Federal statute that was created to prohibit sex discrimination in education programs that receive Federal financial assistance. Nearly every educational institution is a recipient of Federal funds and, thus, is required to comply with Title IX. The regulation implementing the Title IX statute is at 34 C.F.R."

Week 4 EOC: Plan the Superbowl

I would pick Calvin Harris and DJ Aoiki for some entertainment. The Chainsmokers would be for the halftime show. I would totally make it like dance party. That way people could enjoy themselves and the people they are with, yet enjoy the show. They could also listen to the music instead of standing and watching a performance. I would also make sure everyone has a glow stick at the end and then I would throw washable paint on everyone. I would want it to be like the black light run. At the end of the game I would have streamers and bubbles that match the team color for the winner.

Week 4 EOC: Stallions Not Unicorns

After I get my degree in Marketing and Entertainment Management, I would like to start off at something like the Smith's Center in the box office. After a good time of experience I would like to work up to being a supervisor and deciding showtimes for the customers, along with other responsibilities.According to the textbook "When a crowd of enthusiastic fans gathers for an event, anything can happen." So I need to be prepared. That way I can not only sell tickets but also get some experience in the theatre department. I also would like to take pictures for people on the side of nature, families, pets, and babies. Then hopefully, I would like to get in to tv commercials like QVC and sell merchandise on public television and be in commercials.  I feel as though I do have a tv personality for all different experiences. I would then like to move to the film area of entertainment. I would like to be an actor in all kinds of movies. I would love to be in action films, comedy films, drama films, and horror films. Then I would like to start to film and direct my own movies, such as comedies, horrors, and action films. So after earning my degree I feel as though I would go pretty far. I may even try to get some experience in Human Resources because I enjoy talking and listening to people. I also enjoy helping others as well. Even if I do't follow my dream into becoming a film director and actor, I could always get experience in Human Resources. It may not be in front of a camera or behind one. It also may not have a stage but it is ok because I will still be able to put on a show and act with different people. The people would be my audience and my life and how I act will be the performance. People pleasing would also defiantly put on a great show, which does involve taking risks, but like what the textbook says "Human risk in business can result from customer dishonesty, employee theft, and employee incompetence."It also says "Some risks are avoidable through careful planning, attention to details, and adherence to legal safety standards."  So I will not be dealing with every risk, I just have to stay focused.

Week 1 EOC: My Voice

I chose Marketing and Entertainment Management because most of my interests are all in the entertainment industry.  I have a passion for photography, film and broadcast.  My main dreams in film are to become a very successful actor or director. I prefer directing Horror, comedy, and action films.  As for photography, I fell in love with it when I was younger when I first captured a memory.  I like to capture nature/ animal life, Prom photos, Maternity, and Landscape. I also love color photography and black and white.  I mainly shoot with natural lighting. Sales are something that is big in my family.  My uncle got second in sales in the country. I have family members that had their own business and my aunt is Vice President in Human Resources at Wyndham Resort.  I also chose this major because of my communication skills.  I enjoy communicating with others and I do pretty well at it as well. Another interest I have is in Broadway shows and theatre in general.  I love to act in tv shows, films, and on stage.  One of my favorites is improvisation.  The main reason for choosing this major is to have a larger selection of doors rather than to just one area of the entertainment industry.

Week 3 EOC: Sport Event Safety

"The NFL always addresses security prior to the start of each season." Sports Entertainments are not as safe anymore to attend. Stadiums should have a better cover over the players and fans incase something falls from the sky and in case it rains. If it rains then there will not be an issue of the fans or players slipping and getting hurt. Stadiums could also be indoors or if outdoors and its hot have some misters. As far as trash, they should have trash cans that suck up the trash out of your hand like in the other countries. Floors should be made slip resistant. More security should be around. As far as safe transportation for workers, there should be like a shuttle or underground subway for just simply the workers. For players, there should be better helmets and neck stabilizers. They also need better mouth guards and training without the helmets. Checking bags should be more strict. "The strict bag policy allows only small purses and handbags, clear plastic or vinyl bags, and one-gallon plastic freezer bags." There should be more Event Organizers. " Event organizers want to prevent dangerous incidents from happening." Maybe if there are more there will be less problems and will make it more safe.  Having organizers will also help with cleaning up and getting people out faster. Having more will help everyone find their way back to the front or where they are parked. Valet Parking could also be provided so there are less people in the parking lots and crowds will slow down faster. Organizers can also be used for other things as well. If there are any extra ones or no longer have people to help exit the stadium fast and efficiently. Cleaning will be done sooner as well. Also have more people for if someone gets hurt.

Week 3 EOC: Academy Awards

The Academy Awards have more diversities this year. Previously, in the last two years it was mainly white nominees rather than black and hispanics. This year in the Oscar Nominations it has become a major topic of the races. Like the textbook states, "Formula One races are held all over the world." People are getting heartbroken and frustrated over the matter of their steps to improvement. They have been having calls to boycott the academy awards for this very reason. Individuals are saying that they did choose colored people for nominees but not many were not nominated for the Oscars. Many of the actors and directors that are colored are worthy of nominations but also did not receive them as well. The Oscar Academy Awards is important to bear motivational significance. They are both symbolic and have done three different functions. They must know a lot . They must be known to every artist, have a high degree of prestige, and be within reach of potential candidates. The importance of the Oscars are now embraced universally as symbols of achievement in history in entertainment. The Oscars is also a lot more competitive and harder to achieve. They are used to bring out the most popular and critical. Seven actors of color were nominated this year for the Oscars. They were Denzel Washington and Viola Davis for the movie Fences. Mahershala Ali and Naomie Harris for the film Moonlight. Ruth Negga was for the movie Loving and Dev Patel was for the movie Lion. Octavia Spencer was for the film Hidden Figures. America is a country with all different races. The Oscars is an annual American awards ceremony, therefor the Oscars should have all different races, just like America. The Oscar statue is a 24- karat gold plate that is worth nine hundred dollars.
