Week 3 EOC: Academy Awards

The Academy Awards have more diversities this year. Previously, in the last two years it was mainly white nominees rather than black and hispanics. This year in the Oscar Nominations it has become a major topic of the races. Like the textbook states, "Formula One races are held all over the world." People are getting heartbroken and frustrated over the matter of their steps to improvement. They have been having calls to boycott the academy awards for this very reason. Individuals are saying that they did choose colored people for nominees but not many were not nominated for the Oscars. Many of the actors and directors that are colored are worthy of nominations but also did not receive them as well. The Oscar Academy Awards is important to bear motivational significance. They are both symbolic and have done three different functions. They must know a lot . They must be known to every artist, have a high degree of prestige, and be within reach of potential candidates. The importance of the Oscars are now embraced universally as symbols of achievement in history in entertainment. The Oscars is also a lot more competitive and harder to achieve. They are used to bring out the most popular and critical. Seven actors of color were nominated this year for the Oscars. They were Denzel Washington and Viola Davis for the movie Fences. Mahershala Ali and Naomie Harris for the film Moonlight. Ruth Negga was for the movie Loving and Dev Patel was for the movie Lion. Octavia Spencer was for the film Hidden Figures. America is a country with all different races. The Oscars is an annual American awards ceremony, therefor the Oscars should have all different races, just like America. The Oscar statue is a 24- karat gold plate that is worth nine hundred dollars.
